Vacation to Long Beach, WA

Last week we went to Long Beach, WA for Bryan's family reunion. His grandparents live in WA and his family has been going there his entire life for vacations. This was the first time we've been there since we got married and it was so much fun! The kids loved the beach and hanging out with cousins. Bryan loved seeing all his family again and I loved the 60-70 degree weather!

We went on a mile and a half hike to the lighthouse on Cape Disappointment. It was Jillian's first experience hiking and she did great. Caden and Jillian loved hiking through the forest with their cousins. Maddie did great in a backpack on Bryan's shoulders.
Flying kites was a lot of fun. The wind on Long Beach made for perfect kite flying weather. Caden and Jillian made kites with Grandma and then had a blast flying them on the beach. Jillian was the kite master. She got hers so high and then walked with it all the way home from the beach. Maddie liked flying one with Aunt Rachael, but gave it up as soon as she saw the water. The kids LOVED the beach. Our condo was right on the beach and we spent most of our days there. Maddie was a maniac and had no fear. She kept running full speed into the waves. She was drenched within minutes and even though she was freezing she never wanted to stop splashing. Jillian loved running through the waves with Daddy and then enjoyed digging in the sand. Caden loved hanging out with his cousins and running through the water. Jillian, Daddy and Maddie enjoying the waves.
Bryan with his favorite Grandpa Lake. We were so lucky to be able to see him and make more memories that we'll cherish.

She's Climbing Where?

Maddie's 2 so I know it's normal for kids to start climbing out of their cribs around this age. Well, I'm starting to realize that Maddie does nothing like normal kids. Today I heard her talking so I knew she was awake from her nap. Imagine my shock to find her like this:

Instead of her climbing down to get out of her crib she climbs up to get on her dresser. I guess it's safe to say it's time to put her in a big girl bed.

It's A ......................

Bryan and I went in for the ultrasound and my great friend Sadie came over and watched the kids. When we got home they had made this adorable sign to announce our newest arrival. The back says, "Hooray, it's a boy!" so they were covered for whatever the baby decided to be.

When we told the kids the news about a new baby girl Caden cried even though he'll say he didn't, Jillian was super excited and can't wait to have another sister and Maddie really doesn't get it so she could care less. Bryan is excited to finally be able to feel the baby kick and I just hope I survive this super hot Summer! I hate being pregnant during the Summer! Now to figure out a name for our newest little princess. Any ideas, pass them on!
